Bamboo Blinds for a Modern Classroom and Training Centre

This project was completed for a newly built classroom and training centre that had large floor to ceiling windows running along the full length of one wall. The room had been freshly painted in bright yellow with dark wood student desks and colourful chairs, giving it a modern, energetic and welcoming feel. However, the large windows that made the room feel so open and bright were also letting in too much direct sunlight during certain parts of the day. The sunlight was creating strong glare across the desks and whiteboards, making it very difficult for students to see properly and concentrate on their lessons. The room was also getting noticeably hot during sunny weather because of the amount of glass on that side of the building. The management of the training centre wanted a blind solution that would control the light and heat without making the room feel dark or closed, and that would look neat and appropriate for a modern educational environment. When our team arrived at the training centre, we could immediately see that the windows were very large and that standard blinds would not give the right result for this space. The installation was completed during a weekend so that the training centre was fully ready when classes resumed on Monday morning. When students and staff saw the room for the first time after the installation, the reaction was very positive. Teachers found that they could now control the light levels in the room perfectly depending on the time of day and the type of lesson being taught.
